Around 2010, I started reimagining my life.

I wondered what it would look and feel like to take a less traditional approach to life, work, and livelihood.
I wanted to learn from other people who were already on this path of doing things differently.
I had no clue what the first (few) steps were and I was even more clueless about what a non-traditional life journey really looked like.
I was curious if the worries and fears I had around making the transition were just in my head and heart or if others felt it too.

Over the next few years, I was inspired by, and learned from many courageous people who were living a little (or a long way) off the beaten path and sharing it through their own writing, interviews, and the like. I was grateful for their stories, insights, lessons, and honesty. I also noticed that most of these people were from places other than my Caribbean region and while their contexts looked collectively similar, it was still quite different than mine.

The Caribbean is filled with ordinary people like you and me who are doing extraordinary things every day. And yet, it was rare to get a glimpse of these people as real humans. Every radio conversation, every piece of media coverage, every interview seemed just too ... superficial.

Seven years later, I continue be curious about the interesting things going on in my region and even more curious about the interesting people making it happen.
Seven years later, I still have a craving for more open, honest, conversations with cool people from the Caribbean.

I've been privileged to know and chat with many awesome people from our islands in the sun and I've often walked away from a conversation wishing it was recorded so I could listen to it again and again or share it with others. As much as I can contribute to a conversation, I also enjoy hearing about other people's journeys, learning from their stories, asking unusual questions, and connecting with them as we share that space and time with each other.  (I mean, my love for sharing stories, spreading ideas, and connecting with people was a big motivation for organsing two TEDx events!)

As you probably already know, I love projects and making ideas happen so in March 2017 at Wayfinder Weekend in Portland, I committed to a quest. I want to speak with 100 people from the Caribbean and share the conversations through a podcast.

I want to talk with a wide range of people (from different islands, living in different places, at different life stages, doing different types of work - within an organisation, independently, and everything in between) that are happy to talk with me for 75-90 minutes to share some of their stories, experiences, learnings, and what's happening in their life ... in a refreshingly open and honest way.

This podcast isn't about trying to change or "fix" anyone or "hack" success; rather, to have some straight talk about real life and take a behind-the-scenes look at the ins and outs of the every day adventures of (extra)ordinary people. In each episode, I'll chat with the guest about everything from successes and fears, standout experiences, routines and strategies for "showing up" every day, life lessons, and more.

Imagine sitting down for a cold beer with your best friend as you talk about what's working, what isn't, what you're loving, and what's driving you up a wall. Ahhh, yes!

I believe that everyone has a story to tell, something interesting to share, and something important to teach (or remind!) us all. The goal is for each conversation to be interesting, insightful, and inspiring. (Confession: I'm really, really excited to hear all the amazing Caribbean accents too!)

Want to talk with me? Know someone who should? Anyone you're really curious about and want to learn more about, for real?
